This talk reconsidered the promise of sustainability as an overarching framework for securing collective well-being and futures. It argued for reinterpreting sustainability as both a theoretical category and a policy tool grounded in relationality. This perspective drew inspiration from the “multispecies turn” in the social sciences and humanities, which urged a renewed awareness of human entanglements with other living beings.
